Beak and Feathers:

Feathers run along the entire length of the body. Plumage incorporated into the body designates the membership hierarchy in the tribe. D&D aarakocra male is signified with bright colored feathers draped in red, orange or yellow colors. Females adorn more subtle themed feathers in grey or brown colors. The whole persona of the d&d aarakocra is similar to an eagle like appearance from the top while the bottom section is close to tribal variations.

Sky wardens:

Aarakocra 5e is the warden of the sky, flying continuously for hours and keeping a watchful eye on the ground. They can go on for days without any hassles while locking their wings in a fixed position. One of the most important tools called thermals help to stay afloat in a seamless manner. Aarakocra 5e is the lion of the air battle because it is not only dynamic but also extremely acrobatic in changing positions. With the help of speed and versatile maneuvers, they are able to outfox the opponents and inflict casualties using talons. The feet are transformed into weapons of choices delivering series of victories in the air borne fights.

Aarakocra 5e refuses to leave the vast expanse of the blue sky as it feels at home in the air. Generally, they are always air borne and descend only to lay eggs and take care of the young ones. Parental instinct is evident in the humanoid. They also visit the planes to feed their children periodically until they grow up into adults.

In spite of being half human, they are closer to the bird species and fly as high as they can. In fact Aarakocra lose the sense of height as they continue to descend into the sky.

Avian behavior:

Apart from features, it also imbibes bird like behavior while flying or on the ground. For instance, Aarakocra is quite particular about the plumage because it always tenders the feathers, thereby cleaning the bacteria and debris that might stick in the air. It is understandable because wings play a very important role in increasing the ascending limit. Embedded particles in to the feather would impact the dynamism of the humanoid bird; therefore the plumage is zealously guarded to the hilt. While descending from the sky, Aarakocra ensures that there is a water body nearby for catching fish and bathing.

Speech behavior of the humanoid includes chirping sounds conveying different meanings to the friends and opponents. It is similar what the humans often do with the facial expressions and hand gestures. Aarakocra loses its cool when it finds people who do not understand its behavior. One should take the threat of humanoid as a jest but sometimes the innocuous chirping also entails sudden attack.

The bird fails to understand the ownership of the sky. Majority of Aarakocras do not entertain the ideal of bondage or slavery. In spite of explanation the streaks of independence are so high that the humanoids descend from the sky only to rain havoc on the livestock. It is also tends to plunder food grain and fruit stocks directly from the fields. Crops tend to shine during day and night; therefore they capture the attention of the wardens of sky.

It is extremely difficult for them not to select the treasure and carry them home for further beautification. The humanoid that has lived for years among the tribes may control the impulses to a great extent. In fact, lot of training and interaction would do a whirl of the good to the behavior of the birds.
Confinement is the biggest enemy of D&d 5e aarakocra because the birds are accustomed to freedom. The characters hate to be grounded or tapped because for them it is the end of life. Even while sitting on the tree or mountain top, the birds are always alert ready to handle the danger as soon as possible.

Homelands:

The humanoid character is the inhabitant of the air forever flying into the sky. The blue sky forms a permanent plane to house the extremely courageous and powerful Aarakocra birds. Characters play an important role in preventing the swarm of enemies intruding into their territory. Sometimes, nests of humanoids are transferred into the world through accidents. Others are ported to other dimensions where they create nests higher up in the mountains on the tress or under the canopies. It is an important move that helps the characters to take care of their kids away from the prying eyes of the enemies.
After the settlement of the tribes of Aarakocra 5e, the birds carve out a space of at least 100 miles as the hunting ground for themselves. Generally\, the tribes hunt in close vicinity however if the game is negligible, the area of operation may increase over a period of time. The above mentioned step is highly likely when the tribe has large number of members.

The colony of the tribes resembles a large open roof nest constructed with the help of woven vines. As it happens in the humans, the eldest one is the leader with shaman in the supporting role.

AARAKOCRA IN THE FORGOTTEN REALMS:

The characters could not create a foot hold in the land of Faerun because they were able to create only four colonies. First was established in the star mounts with the high forest due to the rocky terrain and green vegetations in the form of trees. Second settlement was founded in Storm horns in Cormyr while the third colony spring up at Cloven mountains on the Vilhon reach. The fourth one came up into its full grandeur at Mistcliffs in Chult. Settlers in the star mounts were quite secretive and were only spotted when they flew high up in the air. The life was treating them well until green dragon came on the screen. It attacked the humanoids and killed half of the population. Aarakocras got scared with the massacre and became nomads to survive however they took an oath to hunt down every single dragon they see in the sky. Over the generation, the humanoids have been working tirelessly against the foe. Generally there are of operation is in close vicinity to the lands of North and Cormyr. With majority of birds gone, only remnants of colonies survive at the slope of the star mounts in the southern direction. Sever dozen humanoids also reside at the head waters of the unicorn run in the last Aerie area because it is located at a very high altitude from the plane. In recent times, the tribal elders have noticed that the prevailing winds have suddenly changed direction. According to them, signs are ominous and they should brace up for the hard times. The Aarakocras of the material plane are different from their cousins in the realm version because the former do not fly into the plane of the air.

Great Purpose:

The humanoid is one of its kinds with peace as the primary motto. It also loves solitude because the character is a flyer of the sky. Aarakocras are not interested in the life style of the human beings and hate to come on the ground except when they have to hunt in the water. The bird is a proud creature as material wealth would not wean it away from the tribe. It is bounded by the code of vengeance to inflict maximum damage to the enemies while undertaking the adventure in the sky.
There are dual reasons that might push the courageous humanoid on to the path of the adventure. They have long established connections with the Wind dukes of Aqaa, therefore some of the gifted members of the tribes may respect the connection and embark on the quest to search for the missing links of the Rod of seven parts. It is said that the pieces are artifacts of the winds of Duke designed to subjugate the huge champion of the Queen of Chaos called the Miska spider
When the sword entered spider’s body, stirring in the blood created a heavy pressure on the metal and broke the artifacts into numerous pieces scattered across the length and breadth of the multiverse. If the pieces are found, it would restore the honor of the tribe in the eyes of the creator and would also help in designing the weapon ready to ward off the evil.
It is an established fact that the humanoid birds are historical enemies of elemental earth. They despise gargoyles who are guardians of Ogremoch, regarded as the prince of earth. Bothe species fight all along the planes of the ground but they are also are involved in duels in air. Many Aarakocras have proved their mettle by successfully repulsing the attacks of Gargoyles. They also support the other humanoids that are sacrificing their lives in controlling the cult powers of the earth.
